Tradition

When we were pregnant with Spencer, everyone mentioned doing a sibling gift.

Something for him to 'give' to Kenzie and something for Kenzie to 'give' to him.

We decided on stuffed animals.

A unicorn for Spencer to give to Kenzie, and a giraffe for Kenzie to give to Spencer. (thus another giraffe nod and reason for my tattoo).

But when everything happened, we wanted Spencer to be surrounded by those animals. So they stayed with him.

When we found out about Emerson, we wanted to do the same gift idea.

So, we got a sloth for Emerson to give to Kenzie. A dog for Kenzie to give to Emerson.

and

A elephant for Emerson to give to Spencer. We wanted to make sure he was included as the big brother.

The siblings new friends

We will do other traditions with Spencer and many without, so when we can include him, we will.

We have name trains for Kenzie and Spencer and will order one for Emerson as well. All 3 trains will be mounted on our hallway wall.

All 3 kids have 'D' middle names. Something we originally had not planned, but is our way of giving them a secret (well, not too secret), link together.

Traditions can be silly, fun, or whatever you want them to be, but they are also really nice to have.
